# Privacy policy — Stop Autoplay

The extension stops video and audio that websites start by themselves, so media plays only when you start it. It has no server, no account, no analytics and no ads.

**What it can access.** Its scripts run on web pages, in every frame, so they can see when a page asks a `<video>` or `<audio>` element to start playing and decide whether to let it. They don't read page text, form fields or cookies and don't keep a history of the pages you visit. They don't run inside Cloudflare, hCaptcha and reCAPTCHA verification frames.

**What is stored, only on your device:**
- the main on/off switch and your list of exception sites (site names such as `meet.google.com`; a few call services are on the list from the start) — in the browser's local extension storage;
- for each open tab: how many media elements were stopped in each frame of the tab and the time of your last click in the tab (numbers only) — in the browser's session storage, which lives in memory and is removed when the tab closes.

**What is sent outside your browser:** nothing. The extension makes no network requests.

**What is never collected:** personal data, browsing history, page contents, analytics, advertising identifiers. Nothing is sold or shared.
